Parkway Village Elementary School was developed by Fisher Arnold to become the prototype for new schools for Shelby County Schools. The first to be designed around the “21st Century Schools” concept, Parkway Village accommodates 1,200 students and replaces the existing Goodlett Elementary and Knight Road Elementary Schools. The new facilities were placed on an approximate 15-acre vacant site located directly behind the old Goodlett Elementary while allowing the existing facilities to remain operational during construction. Parkway Village Elementary was completed at a cost of $29m in late 2019 and opened to students in January 2020.
